Vince Montana, Jr.

When you think of the Philadelphia sound, certain things come to mind. The incredible harmonies, the sophisticated lyrics, and the incredible orchestral arrangements that came out of the scene. Vince was at the center of that sound, as the 25 gold and platinum albums on his wall will attest to. An original member of MFSB, Vince later founded the Salsoul Orchestra – the first disco orchestra – and invented a new style of dance music. Vince’s credits truly are too numerous to mention. Highlights include Billy Paul, the Intruders, the Jacksons, Johnny Mathis, Grace Jones, Charlie Parker, Sarah Vaughn, Stan Getz, Charo, Denise Williams and Lou Rawls.
